Newsletter for Week of February 7 - 13
Valentine's Week is here!
We have classes this week, and then have a week off, so.....
Sunday teachers: This week you will do your Feb. 7th lesson and send home your Feb. 14th lesson. (If you want to include some elements of your Feb. 14 lesson in your lesson this week, that is ok too!)
Wednesday teachers: This week you will do your Feb. 14th lesson and send home your Feb. 21st lesson - but since it involves the beginning of Lent, it's ok with me if you want to incorporate some of that, too.
As I said last week, for Valentine's Day: if you are going to do a little treat, keep it small!
I will have some Lenten activities available for you to look over when you return after ou rweek off. Just remember, although your PGWs seem to be just full of plenty of activities all relating to Lent, and you probably won't need to supplement much (if at all!) like you did with our old textbooks, it's fine to use supplemental materials!
Your upcoming date reminders: Please be sure you have marked these in your calendar!!!!
On Wednesday, March 3rd: Tatiana is returning in concert. The 5:00 classes will be held as usual, but the 7:00 classes will ALL ATTEND THE CONCERT as your RE for the night. You will still sit with your class, but instead of having class you will stay for the concert. Depending on what time she is finished, you may have time to go back to your classrooms before dismissal. I will let you know more as I know more. For you 5:00 people, there will be the opportunity for you to purchase a Chick Fil A dinner and stay for the concert. I was out of town last time and missed her concert, but undertand that she was excellent and therefore she is coming back by popular demand!
Wednesday, March 10: Our Lenten penance service. We DO have religious ed. that night, but if you 3rd - 5th grade teachers at the 7:00 session want to take your classes, that is OK.
Wednesday, March 31: The 5:00 classes will be staying in the church to see the Children's Choir musical about David and Goliath. The 7:00 classes will be staying in the church to see the Passion Play. You will only dismiss from your classrooms that day, so you won't need to plan a lesson.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to seeing you for our next class!
Peace be with you!
Jenifer

Reminder: Make-up Lessons
Just a reminder: You should be saving the PGW lesson for any absent students. Please give it to the student upon his/her return to class. If they turn the lesson back in to you, please forward it to me in the office. The policy is that a student's absence is marked "excused" only if the make-up work is received in my office. Thank you!
