Newsletter for April 25th and 28th:  End of Year!

Picture
This is it!  The last newsletter for the 2009-10 School Year!! Woo hoo!

Regarding catechist volunteers, I still have the following openings for next year:
Sunday morning:  Pre K, 4th and 5th leads, and Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th co-teachers or assistants.
Wednesday 5:30:  1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th leads, and 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th co-teachers or assistants.
Wednesday 7:00:  2nd and 4th grade co-teachers or assistants. (all leads filled).

Our last class is this week, April 25 and 28th.  We will have extended group-gathering time as I give out the awards for perfect attendance and also a little something for each child who met the attendance requirement of 80% or make-up work equivalent.  You may have a last-day party in your classroom, but just as with at Christmas, I strongly encourage you to plan something structured first and save the party to the end.  In my professional teaching experience, I can tell you that one hour of unstructured party time is too much!

Finally, I am thrilled that so many of you are able to attend our Catechist Appreciation Dinner on Friday, May 7th.  If you have not yet responded to your evite for this event, please do so to help us plan enough food.  If you did not receive an evite, let me know and I will get you the details right away!  Allow me to take this opportunity to THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the dedication you have all given to the children of St. Oliver's this year.  I know my own children are so much the richer for it, as are the rest of the children in the parish, and for that I am so very grateful.  Peace and blessings to you as you enjoy a relaxing summer break!

Fondly,
Jenifer
