Volunteer Application Instructions
(This is required by the Archdiocese of Atlanta for anyone who volunteers with children in our parish.)
Thank you for volunteering to work with the children of St. Oliver's! As you know, we live in a day and age when it is imperative to take proactive steps to ensure the safety of our children. With that in mind, the Archdiocese has put together a volunteer application packet which must be completed before you begin your work with the children. These materials are all available online, and can be completed easily from your home. You will need to return the signed materials to us, and we will run a background check and keep your information on file. Please follow the directions printed below to access this information, and complete it at your earliest convenience. Again, thanks so much for making this commitment for our children!
Instructions for accessing volunteer information online:
Go to www.archatl.com . In the far left column, at the middle, choose and click on the heading "Office of Child & Youth Protection.
From here, under the "Safe Environment Office" heading, choose and click on "Volunteers."
First, under the "Volunteer Packet" heading, you'll need to read and sign each of documents. The document entitled "Save Environment Adult Compliance Form" is signed after you view the "You Matter" video. To do this, you will need to look on this same page for the "Video for Adults." This will bring up your viewing options. Suggestion: use the "streaming" option rather than the "download." This will work best with DSL or cable modem speeds. There are THREE SECTIONS to view.
** It will save trees if you simply read the documents online, then print only the signature pages. There should be 7 signed and filled-out pages in all. If you don't know how to print only a specific page, call me!
